Priming your immune system for the winter blues, colds and flu’s should begin today.
At live Well Clinic I use natural ways to help prevent and alleviate theses pesky problems.
The winter blues medically known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a condition that affects people’s mood as a result of low sunlight. The natural ways that help are the use of a light box that emits light closest to natural day light. I have also seen that a Vitamin D3 supplement helps and the use of Guna Mood. – a remedy for temporary relief of occasional Mood swings, Anxiety. Clients have told me that SAD affects them by lowering their mood and it can also interfere with how they sleep and their levels of energy.
Colds and Flu viruses are usually more rampant in the winter. It is vital that you eat well firstly. Stews and soups made with fresh ingredients which you can vary greatly are always a good idea and you can make them in a large enough batch to do for more than one meal. Using local products to optimise your natural health, like our local fresh potatoes, vegetables, our excellent grass fed beef and free range chicken as well as the great variety of locally produced health foods, is an excellent practice that will benefit your health and that of the planet.
You can help your immune system prevent you becoming a victim to colds and flu or shortening their length. There is a remedy that I use with clients to help prevent and helps alleviate viral symptoms if you’re unfortunate and is available in all good pharmacies and health shops. Guna Complex N1 can be used from 2 years old right up through all ages -it is a homeopathic licensed remedy. Homeopathic remedies are my choice as they are gentle, effective and easy to take.
Probiotics really do help to prime your immune system and there is more scientific evidence of this emerging. Great probiotics will be tailored to your needs and therefore my choice is to a Swedish company called WASA medicals who offer three types. The two I most use at Live Well Clinic are Probion Basic for those who have a sensitive digestive system and are prone to constipation and Probion Active for those who have a stressed life perhaps indigestion and are prone to diarrhoea. Probiotics give you the good bacteria for your digestive system and not only help the immune system but also conditions like Irritable bowel, Inflammatory Bowel disease, bloating and indigestion to name a few. I recommend that you take them daily and at a dose that suits you.
Have a healthy winter by preparing now. Fresh air is important so grab any chance to get outside, freshly made food, Guna Complex N1 and I recommend the correct probiotics. Other great remedies that are available in all good pharmacies and at Live Well Clinic that can help aches and pains that come with winter chill are Traumeel cream for inflammations of all sorts(even on sore spots) and Zeel cream for arthritic joints. My clients return for these wonderful homeopathic remedies reporting their success.
