I hope you all had the Christmas you hoped for and you are ready to face a New Year refreshed and ready to keep your New Year resolutions!
Many of us promise to become fitter, eat healthier in order to look good and feel great. Have you noticed that the gym and swimming pool are always busier in January and the rush begins to die in February? The problem is that it is hard to stay motivated and keep the vision of a better me alive. Life gets in the way, other pressures distract us. Why is it that our best intentions can be sabotaged?
Keep yourself motivated by agreeing with a partner to encourage each other. Make a list of your intentions and an action plan, leave it where you will be reminded of it daily-reaffirming to yourself each day your positive intentions can make you be more proactive in achieving them and positively reinforces them.
Give yourself short-term achievable goals as stepping-stones to the ultimate achievement. As the short-term goal is met feel good about it and aim for the next one. If losing weight is your goal, think about it one pound at a time. I constantly hear people say, ‘I only lost a pound this time’, and they feel that because someone else has lost two that they are a failure!! My answer to that is, take a look at a pound of butter-that’s what you have lost.
In simple terms think of these DETOX quick start guidelines
D- Determination. Stay focused on your goal, you will be the beneficiary
E- Elimination. Cut out all toxic habits, drink lots of water
T- Time Out. De-stress by learning to relax, the best anti aging medicine there is.
O-Optimism. Be positive; believe in yourself, negativity is your enemy.
X-xercise!!! Move that body, you will feel happier and look terrific.
